The Superior General, Fr Jean-Marie Guillaume, and the Vicar General, Fr Paul Saa-Dada, Ennin were on official visitation to the Dutch Province from the 9th to 17th February 2012. The visit ended with a meeting of the superiors of the SMA units in Europe and America to discuss long-term SMA presence in the two continents. The Dutch Province, with a total membership of about 50 presently, has contributed immensely to the SMA missionary activity in Africa, and most especially in Ghana.
« You are an SMA, but why are you working in Bénin? » This is the question that sometimes I try to answer when I introduce myself as a Béninois SMA priest working in Bénin. I am Mahougnon Bernardin KINNOUME, ordained a priest on the 11th of July 2009. After two years as missionary in Democratic Republic of Congo, my superiors asked me to come back home and take the post of missionary animation.
Since October 2011, I reside at SMA regional house in Cotonou where I meet SMA aspirants and people of good will who desire to support SMA. It’s an interesting job for I spend my time listening to the young who are searching for a sense to their life. It reminds me of the years spent like them in attending sessions organized by the SMA to understand the desire to consecrate myself to God.
